Projekt MEMOO

MEMOO is a joint project of the War Museum Overloon and the NS Documentation Center of the City of Krefeld (Villa Merländer). It is about a description of places that are connected with the events of the period of National Socialism and the Second World War. These events took place in the border area between the Meuse and the Rhine. A selection of such places was inspected, the story reconstructed, written down and told.

The documentation is supplemented by up-to-date tips (opening hours, directions for cycling and buses and trains, information on other sights). A special feature of the presentation are audio files that can be copied for free to the appropriate players (mobile phones or other MP3 players) and can be listened to on the spot as a location guide.

The detailed descriptions are written in such a way that they are as understandable as possible and not an obstacle in the search for information. The MEMOO texts deliberately try to avoid unnecessary technical terms or unfamiliar foreign words.

The Projekt MEMOO is funded by the Prime Minister of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and supported by the State Agency for Civic Education NRW.
