Memorial Kurt Schumacher Berlijn

This plaque on the Schleusenbrücke over the Spree Canal commemorates Kurt Schumacher. He was an artist and created two of the medallions on this bridge. He was a member of the Schulze Boysen-Harnack resistance group and was arrested on 12 September 1942. Kurt Schumacher was sentenced to death by court martial on 19 December 1942 and executed three days later in Berlin-Plötzensee on 22 December 1942.
