Memorial Arvid and Mildred Harnack

This memorial commemorates Arvid and Mildred Harnack, who loved here. From 1933 on, meetings of the resistance against the National-Socialists were organized here. Later on this became the resistance group Harnack / Schulze-Boysen, which was called Rote Kapelle by the Gestapo.
In the summer of 1942, 130 members of this group were arrested. 49 were executed in Plötzensee, among them were Arvid en Mildred Harnack.
