Memorial Bridge Stavelot

On both bridge railings plaques have been mounted with the following texts:
Plaque 1:
In this area, the nazi hordes of Von Rundstedt have been rebuked and pursued by the men of the USA 1st Army.
This plaque has been placed by the city of Brussels, the godmother of Stavelot, the city of martyrs. 16 September 1945.

Plaque number 2:
Men of the U.S.A.
596th Parachute Engineer Company
salute the citizens of
Stavelot
