Carvings Polish Internees
(Sweden - Nykvarn)
After the German occupation of Poland at the beginning of the Second World War, three Polish submarines took refuge in Sweden. The crewmembers were detained on the little island of Förskär in lake Mälaren.
These carvings were made by the Polish submariners. A small memorial is attached to remember their presency.
