Remembrance Window St Michael and All Angels Church

This church was used to collect many of the POW's on arriving at Sandakan. They spent the night here before being marched to camp.

The stained glass windows were donated by Australian and British families and friends as a memorial to the prisoners and as a thanksgiving to the local people who risked and gave their lives to help them. The windows were dedicated to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of The Second World War.
