Vietnamese Commemorative Memorial

This memorial is quite simply a monument to the quest for freedom. There is no direct mention of the Vietnam War, South Vietnam or North Vietnam but of course, everyone knows it refers to the Vietnam War and the aftermath. The statue is almost an exact copy of a Reuters photograph of civilians fleeing the advance of the VC and NVA Forces during the Tet-Offensive in 1968.
The Vietnamese Government filed many official protests about this monument.
