Under the Gunby Clock Tower, is a commemorative plaque, with the following text:
THIS CLOCK
DESIGNED BY THE BROTHERS ADAM FOR HOOKPLACE SOUTHAMPTON WATER IN 1778 WAS BROUGHT FROM THERE IN 1917 BY SUSAN LUSHINGTON AND GIVEN TO HER BROTHER-IN-LAW STEPHEN MASSINGBERD MAJOR 3RD BATTALION LINCOLNSHIRE REGT. ON HIS RETURN FROM THE GREAT WAR.
