Memorial plaque Walter Frank Watson Veness

(Netherlands, the - North Brabant - Heijningen)

During a German attack on Fort Sabina inj January 1945, a Canadian soldier named Walter Frank Watson Veness was heavily injured before passing away on January 22 in the Dirksland hospital. To commemorate this a memorial was unveiled on Fort Sabina on sunday January 25, 2015.

The monument is next to the guardhouse, near the entrance of the fort.
