Fort bij Veldhuis

The "Fort bij Veldhuis (Fort at Veldhuis)", model A, was completed in 1903 as part of the Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

The fort was mobilized both in 1914-1918 and in 1940. During World War II, the Germans used the fort as searchlight emplacement and after the war, collaborators were imprisoned here.

Nowaday it houses a museum of the Aircraft Recovery Group 1940-1945.
