Remembrance Forest Joop Westerweel

This remembrance forest was planted in 1945 in memory of the Dutch resistance fighter Joop Westerweel who has helped hundreds of Jews escape from occupied territory. He was executed on 11 August 1944 in Vught.

In the forest are a number of memorials that commemorate him and his resistance group.
