Mary Chapel on Ypres Walls

On the walls of Ypres is a small chapel known as the "Mariakapelletje".

It is erected to commemorate the liberation of Ypres, on 6 September 1944 by the Polish 1st Armour Division. On the backside stands the text 3-9-1944.
In the chapel is a statue of mother Mary with Jezus.

The chapel is located at the end of the Kanonweg (Canonroad), a sloping road used to bring canons on the walls, at Aalmoezeniersstraat 2.
