Museum of War and Martyrdom

This museum traces the grim events of the Second World War.

It opened on 1 September 1947 for visitors and was the former Gestapo headquarters which included isolation cells, interrogation rooms and group cells.

The local government decided on 25 July 1946 that this Gestapo building had to remain intact, as a place of remembrance for the passion and heroism of the Polish people. The interior of the building is very similar to the state it was left in by the Gestapo.

On entry of the museum an informative film is shown about the story of this location.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
