Frontzate Machine gun post Villa Bertha Ramskapelle

This Belgian MG-bunker along the old railway was built in the Great War (World War I).

Frontzate the cycle path over the railway bed from Nieuwpoort to Diksmuide was the Belgian line during the First World War due to the flooding of the Yzer plain.
Today we still see several remains of shelters, machine gun positions and medical posts along this line.
This construction was a Belgian machine gun post which, according to tradition, was called "Villa Bertha".
