War Memorial Doel

(Belgium - East Flanders - Doel)

A monument memorizing both the First World War and the Second World War.
It has been placed on the site in front of the church.

On the face of the monument a plaque holds a text which can be translated as follows:
1914 – 1918
Fallen on the field of honour.

Then follow the names of the victims of the Great War.
Underneath these names the years:
1940-1945
followed by the names of the victims of the Second World War.

On the backside of the monument there is another plaque with a description which can be translated as follows:
1914-1918
Died in exile.

Followed by the names of the victims of the Great War.
Below these names the years:
1940-1945
and the names of the victims of the Second World War.
