Liberation Plaque Maliebaan

(Netherlands, the - Utrecht - Utrecht)

This liberation plaque hangs on the building on Maliebaan 55, on the corner with the Burgermeester Reigerstraat.

The plaque contains a picture of an Allied soldier with behind him a Maple Leaf (the symbol of Canada) and the flags of Great-Brittain, America, the Soviet-Union and the Netherlands.

The plaque also contains the text:
7 May 1945

Utrecht was liberated on 7 May, 2 days after the official liberation of the Netherlands.
