Memorials & Remembrance Windows World Wars Norwich Cathedral

Norwich Cathedral contains several remembrance windows and plaques in memory of the world wars:

Plaque to the Norfolk Regiment. The text on the plaque is:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS WARRANT OFFICERS NON-COMMISIONED OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE 1/4TH BATTN THE NORFOLK REGIMENT WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THE EMPIRE IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918

THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE

THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY THEIR COMRADES

GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS


Remembrance window and plaques Royal Dragoon Guards

The plaque below the window gives the following information:
THE ABOVE WINDOW IS DEDICATED BY THE 7TH (PRINCESS ROYAL'S) DRAGOON GUARDS TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN AFFECTIONATE REMEMBRANCE OF THEIR COMRADES WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THEIR SERVICE OF THEIR KING AND COUNTRY DURING THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918

on the small plaque: 1939-1945

On another plaque are the names of the victims of the Dragoon Guards who fell during World War One. On the small plaque below this one is the text:
IN MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS WARRANT OFFICERS AND TROOPERS OF THE 4/7TH ROYAL DRAGOON GUARDS WHO FELL IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR

Plaques and Book of Remembrance with the names of the victims of World War One and World War Two of The King's Own Royal Regiment Norfolk Yeomanry and the 12th (Yeomanry) Battalion Norfolk Regiment and the 65th (Norfolk Yeomanry) Anti-tank Regiment R.A.
