Fort 4

This fort was put under heavy fire on 8 October 1914 by the Germans. On the night of 8 on 9 October it was abandoned by the Belgian troops.

In the Second World War the Germans used it to store ammunition and aircraft bombs. The fort is repeatedly hit by bombs and twice by a V-bomb after the liberation of Antwerp.
