Memorial The Brooding Soldier

This impressive monument on the Vancouver Corner commemorates the 2000 Canadian soldiers who died in the first gas attack during the Second Battle of Ypres.

The monument stands in a park where the schrubs protray grenades and the front portray. The earth beneath the monument comes from Canada.

The monument has the nicknames "Rest on your arms reversed" and "Den Canadien (The Canadian)".
