Former St. Elisabeth Hospital Tilburg

The former St. Elisabeth Hospital was occupied by the Germans during World War II. All patients were sent home to make room for the wounded German soldiers who were nursed by the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament.

At this moment the former hospital houses 87 artists.

A beautiful story is told by Sister Bernadette Vankan and Sister Franciska Swanen. As Sisters of Charity they had to take care of the wounded German soldiers. A wonderful mini documentary was made with the title: Upset order.
