Commonwealth War Graves Alperton Burial Ground

One soldier of the 1914-1918 War is buried on Alperton Burial Ground in Wembley. During the early months of the 1939-1945 War, ground was set aside by the local authorities for war burials. This became the War Graves Plot and contains 33 service war burials, the remainder being scattered elsewhere in the cemetery. The total number of 1939-1945 War burials is 77. This figure is made up by 7 sailors, 38soldiers and 31 airmen, all belonging to the forces of the United Kingdom and 1 man of the Home Guard. Also buried in the cemetery is an Australian veteran soldier of the 1914-1918 War, whose grave is maintained by the Commission on behalf of the Australian Government.
