Commonwealth War Graves Avesnes-le-Comte

At the municipal cemetery in Avesnes-le-Comte are four Commonwealth war graves from World War II.

Gunner Robert Claude Jehan, 1427598, age unknown

14-05-1940 - GENERAL LIST
Major William Scott, 7957, age 45

14-05-1940 - ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS
Second Lieutenant John Robert Williamson Hobson, 118298, age 26

15-05-1940 - WORCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT
Brigadier Mainwaring Ravell Walsh, age 64.

Brigadier Walsh, Major Scott and Lieutenant Hobson were killed in the bombing of the Hotel de L'Univers in Arras on 14 and 15 may 1940.

At this cemetery are also 333 graves of World War l.
