GI Memorial Clervaux

(Luxembourg - Diekirch - Clervaux)

On the plaque on the lower left side of the front of the monument the following text can be read:
In appreciation to the
citizens of Clervaux
and the members of Ceba
from the grateful friends in the
U.S. 6th Armored Division
1 August 1994


On the pedestal in the middle a glass plate has been mounted with a border of emblems of those allied forces that have been in Clervaux. In the middle a text in English and in Luxembourgian:
To our Liberators
1944 – 1945
They gave us back our freedom


On the plaque to the right hand upper side a text in Luxembourgian French can be translated as follows:
Monument G I 1944 – 45
Erected in 1983 by the
Study group of the
Battle of the Bulge (Ceba)


On the back of the monument the following text has been placed both in English and in Luxembourgian German:
The realisation of this monument
in 1983 is based on the idea
and the plans of
Frank Kieffer, Asselborn
