In this building was the Aachen Health Institute. From 1934 on, here was the central management of forced sterilisation of "minor people" in Aachen, which took place in 7 different hospitals. The selection of the people who were murdered between 1941 and 1945 in the euthanasia-institutions, took also place at the Health Institute.

The plaque is part of the project “Wege Gegen Das Vergessen” (Ways Against Forgetting).
