Memorials St. Laurens Church Rotterdam

In the Great or Sint-Laurenschurch, also known as the Laurenschurch, in Rotterdam is a memorial commemorating the constructor Johannes van den Berg who died during the air strike on Rotterdam on 14 May 1940, when he tried to save the chuchtower from fire.

In the St. Lawrence Church are two plaques that describe the reconstruction of the church after it was almost completely destroyed after the bombing of Rotterdam. The tower was badly damaged in- and externally. The recovery began on 18-05-1947 and was completed on 14-12-1966.
