Russian War Graves Kremlin Smolensk

(Russia - Central - Smolensk)

Along the old city wall of Smolensk are a number of war graves of Soviet soldiers and officers who fell during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The burials includes the following three Heroes of the Soviet Union:

- Pilot Anton A. Gubenko.
- Sergeant Mariya V. Oktyabrskaya (the first female tanker who earned the Hero title).
- Partizana V. T. Kurylenko.
