Plaque Food Droppings Racecourse Duindigt

(Netherlands, the - South Holland - Wassenaar)

This plaque on Racecourse Duindigt was placed here in 1995 in commemoration of the food droppings that took place here from April 29nd till May 8th, 1945. The food packets, which were dropped here by the RAF, were used by hospitals and central kitchens. The text on this plaque is as follows:

In grateful commemoration to the lifesaving fooddrop operations 29 April – 8 May 1945
