George Maduro was born in Willemstad-Curacao, on 15 July 1916.
Madurodam is named after him as well as the Maduroplein where the entrance is located. The parents of George Maduro gave the initial capital for the construction of Madurodam as a memorial to their son, who died in Dachau on 09-02-1945.
