Memorial Execution Marcel La Chantre

(Netherlands, the - Limburg - Voerendaal)

This monument in Voerendaal has been built in memory of Marcel La Chantre, a Belgian resistance fighter who was executed on 9 September 1944 at this very place after being caught together with his companion in Eisden, a Belgian town close to Maasmechelen. His companion was executed there.
In first instance, Marcel La Chantre was buried at the cemetery in Voerendaal, beforebeing reburied in Eisden after the war.
