Memorial Stone Deported Sportsmen
This memorial stone is located next to the sporting field in Loches. It commemorates the sportsmen from Loches and Beaulieu-les-Loches who were arrested as resistance members by the Gestapo on July 2, 1943 and imprisoned in Tours. Seven sportsmen were deported to concentration camp Buchenwald, where five of them died: Emmanuel Marchenoir, Robert Marcadon, Jean Tellier, Bernard Meunier and Pierre Dupart.
