Remnants RAF Deopham Green and 452nd Bomb. Group Memorial

(UK: England - Norfolk - Attleborough)

RAF Deopham Green was built in 1943 and was used between 1944 and 1945 by the USAAF 8th Air Force. It was the home of the heavy Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bombers of the 452nd Bombardment Group. Shortly after the war the airport was closed. Currently there is little left of the airfield, the only thing left is a portion of the runways and taxiways.

On the grounds is a monument which commemorates the men of the U.S. 452nd Bomb. Group Heavy, who have been stationed here during World War II.
