Eder Dam

(Germany - Hessen - Edertal)

In the night of May 16 on May 17, 1943, this dam, named Eder Dam was destroyed during a "dambuster"-bomb raid by the RAF. With so-called bouncing bombs 617 squadron succeeded in breaking through the dam.

There's a memorial plaque for the forced labourers who had to rebuild the dam in 1943.
