Dutch War Grave Castricum
(Netherlands, the - North Holland - Castricum)
The Protestant Cemetery of Castricum contains one Dutch war grave of the Second World War. G.A. Smits was killed on 20 May 1944 when the Dutch minesweeper 'Hr. Ms. Marken' ran on an acoustic mine in the North Sea and sunk. Only one person survived the explosion.
