Commonwealth War Grave Maleizen

At the cemetery near the church in Maleizen, municipality Overijse is a Commonwealth war grave. This is the grave of Aircraftman 2nd Class Renatus Trappeniers, 2791656, he died after the war on 03/05/1946 at age 20. Rene died due to a fall with his bike. Due to the lack of anesthesia used in the 40's, he died in hospital due to excessive dose of chloroform. The Belgian René Trappeniers had voluntarily joined the RAF, although Rene was a Belgian citizen, he received a tombstone of the CWGC. The usual bottom inscription on the headstone (this script was created by the family) is in Dutch.
