Field of Honour Brussels City Cemetery

At the cemetery in Evere is a place of honor for the veterans of the war 14-18 who died more than 25 years later. There are 5 double rows of stones with epitaph and cross.

At the cemetery in Evere is a place of honor for the Belgian soldiers of the two world wars.It is a creation of architect François Malfait, dating from 1928. It was inaugurated on November 1, 1930.

An imposing portico in blue stone, with a group of statues on the left and right, provides access to the court of honor. Two protruding reliefs represent the Pain, the Remembrance and the Mourning.

In the court of honor there are four double rows of burial columns for the fighters of the war 14-18 and two rows of burial columns for the fighters 40-45.
In 1952 the wooden crosses were replaced by tombstones.
