Memorial Polish Defenders Palace Michlera

This memorial is dedicated to the Polish soldiers of the "Parasol" Battalion who defended the Michlera palace from 3 to 5 August 1944 (during the Warsaw uprising) against numerous German attacks supported by tanks of the type Panzerkampfwagen V Panther. After suffering high losses, the German forces took the palace on 5 August 1944. The defenders abandoned it shortly before the final German assault.
