Lepropre was a soldier in the 5th reg. Ardennes Hunters.
He was a prisoner of Stalag XIII D and died in captivity during the bombing of Ansbach.
In Rienne a street is named after Gilbert Lepropre.

At the cemetery in Rienne is the grave of Leon Mathieu, a Belgian resistance fighter.
