Maginot Line - Fort Anzeling

The Maginot-Fortress Anzeling was a component of the Secteur Fortifié de Boulay. The garrison consisted of 732 men and 27 officers from the 162th RIF. From 17 to 25 June 1940, it fired on several German positions. Fort Anzeling was attacked by German ground troops in the night of 17-18 June. On 3 July 1940, it surrendered to the German forces. During the German occupation, it was used as bombproof factory.
