Memorial Eighth Air Force London

This memorial is dedicated to the 350.000 Americans who served in the Eight Air Force (8 AF) during the Second World War and is standing in the Royal Air Force museum in London. The text on the memorial reads:

"IN MEMORY OF THE 350,000 AMERICANS WHO SERVED IN GREAT BRITAIN, 1942-1945, AS MEMBERS OF EIGHT AIR FORCE.

Their sacrifice-more than 26.000 died in combat-contributed immeasurably to the Allied victory in Europe - They shall not be forgotten."
