Memorial Doctor Meuwissen

This monument commemorates Drs. J.H.M. Meuwissen, a St. Oldilienburg doctor who was killed on February 9th 1940.

Dutch text on the sign next to the monument (translated to English):

Established in memory of Dr. Meuwissen. By misunderstanding the doctor's car was shot on February 9th 1940 by a border guard. Through a hole in the road not the car hit but the doctor.
