Liberation Memorial Lieler

(Luxembourg - Diekirch - Lieler)

This memorial commemorates the liberation of Lieler, on 26 January 1945, by the 712th US Tank Battalion and the 90th US Infantry Division. It also commemorates the 28th and 8th US Infantry Division, who were here in 1944.

The square (Place Griffin) is named to the American commander, Lt Ray Griffin.
