Fort Jay

Fort Jay was built from 1794 to 1800. During the Second World War, it was the headquarters of the Eastern Defense Command under General Hugh A. Drum, commander of the First Army.

Nowadays the fort is a district headquarters and a training center of the US Coast Guard.
